Volunteer Message
Once again, the West Coast Rally Association needs the help of people willing to help run the next performance rally in a safe and successful way.
This is our initial callout for workers and we very much hope that you can join us in Merritt on Saturday, October 18th. Those of you who have already been in contact/volunteered, please ignore this email (it was too much trouble to extract you from the list).
As per usual, the standard volunteer benefits of fun, T-shirt, banquet, camaraderie, etc will apply. If you require accommodation in Merritt, the club will provide one night complimentary for each day worked. You can choose to use that on the Friday or Saturday night (usual conditions of room sharing apply). Should you require a longer stay, please let me know so that I can see how we can assist you with that.
The proposed schedule for the event currently has a worker briefing at the Days Inn (Merritt) on the Saturday morning at 07:30am. The rally starts at 09:30am and is due to finish around 05:30pm. The banquet will follow that evening.
This year, we have introduced a public worker and volunteer message forum. It can be found at http://www.totalautosport.com/forums and can be read by anyone. You do need to register in order to post and registration
is free and accessible directly from the forum. In the coming weeks, all announcements and notices will be made to the forum. Important announcements will also be sent out by e-mail to those concerned.
There are many other subtle changes in place for this rally. We will be making worker assignments well in advance of the rally. There will also be logistical information available for workers. This will insure that you know what is expected of you, where you are to be & when, and most importantly, how to get there and who to contact if you need help. All in all, you should find the event more pleasurable and less stressful.
If you would like to volunteer, let me know by e-mail using peter @ rallybc.com, sending me your contact details and mentioning any preferences you might have.
It is important for the future security of events that we introduce new people to the sport and allow them to gain experience in a safe environment. If you know of anyone who may like to join us but has never worked a rally before, please ask them to contact me and volunteer.
I look forward to hearing from you.
Best regards,
Peter Parsonage
