As it turned out, the
snow never materialized at all, and the 9 competitors
who showed up to challenge this event were rewarded
with a mix of sunshine, wind, and some drizzle
toward the end. As in all such events, mechanics
can play interesting games with you, and Car 3,
a Saab from North Vancouver with Trevor Pankew
driving for Nick Eddicott, suffered a blown turbo
hose. Quick directions via cell phone to the remaining
organizer got them to a Canadian Tire, where they
were able to purchase the right parts to fix it.
Fortunately, they were able to resume the rally,
which passed nearby, and missed only 4 controls.
Sadly, this was enough to put them last.
